Low back pain is a musculoskeletal problem commonly experienced by urban communities and impacts decreased function and productivity. Prevention efforts through physical exercise require an approach that focuses not only on biomechanical aspects but also on education and sustainable behavior change. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of community-based physical exercise education as a low back pain prevention strategy in urban communities. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a single-group pretest-posttest approach. The intervention, consisting of education and physical exercise practice, was implemented in groups in an urban community setting. Data were collected using a low back pain intensity measurement instrument and analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed a significant reduction in low back pain levels after the community-based physical exercise education intervention. These findings indicate that a community-based approach is effective in increasing adherence to physical exercise and contributing to low back pain prevention. This study recommends the development of a community-based physical exercise education program as a promotive-preventive strategy in the context of urban public health.
