Abstract

Breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy often experience various physical, psychological, and social challenges that can impact their quality of life. One factor thought to play a role in helping patients adapt to these conditions is social support. This study aims to analyze the relationship between levels of social support and quality of life in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. A total of 100 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a standardized questionnaire that measured patients' perceptions of social support and quality of life. The data obtained were analyzed using a Pearson correlation test. The analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social support and quality of life (p < 0.05), indicating that increased social support is associated with improved quality of life. These findings emphasize the important role of support from family, friends, and the social environment in the care process for breast cancer patients. Therefore, healthcare professionals are expected to optimize the involvement of social support systems as part of a holistic care approach during chemotherapy.
